Shoes Specially Created for Lawncare Safety and Comfort:
STIHL Dealers to Sell Three Models of LawnGrips Footwear with STIHL Logo

STIHL Incorporated has entered into an agreement with LawnGrips, LLC to make available to the nationwide network of independent STIHL dealers three models of lawncare footwear that will feature both the STIHL and LawnGrips logos.

The announcement was made by LawnGrips President Russ Stark and Marv Mathwig, product manager for STIHL Inc., who said, “These shoes are an excellent addition to the STIHL product line of protective clothing and accessory products. LawnGrips’ commitment to using the highest quality materials and construction is consistent with the STIHL brand and values.”

Specifically designed with landscape professionals in mind, each of the three styles – the Classic slip-on model with hook and loop closure; the Pro, with six-inch lace-up, and the Pro8 work boot with eight-inch lace-up – is made with a steel toe encased in rugged molded rubber. The shoes are available in whole and half sizes 7 through 11½, plus 12 and 13.

All LawnGrips footwear features the patented Grip-N-Go™ outsole for superior traction on freshly cut grass. The tread pattern of the Grip-N-Go outsole has specialized, oblique cleats positioned in the forefoot and heel areas that provide great traction for pushing, turning and stopping. The lugs and centers of the heel and forefoot are slightly rounded to easily shed grass clippings and dirt. Additional features include a composite insole board with polyurethane midsole for comfort and support, water- and stain-resistant leather.

Mr. Stark founded LawnGrips, LLC five years ago as the first company to make footwear specifically designed for landscapers and gardeners, and the young company has surpassed all expectations.

“Lawn and garden care is a relaxing hobby for some and a serious profession for others,” he says. “Both groups want safety and performance from their tools, and their footwear is no exception.

“The idea for LawnGrips,” he adds, “came one day when I was pushing around a heavy machine with dangerous cutting blades 12 inches from my feet while wearing a worn out pair of tennis shoes. Those old shoes offered minimal traction or comfort, and certainly no protection. There’s a shoe designed for every purpose these days, and it just makes sense to have one for lawn and garden work,” he concludes.
